What happens when you get six musicians from all over the country, add four parts pop, two parts funk, a dash of rock, and soak them to the point of saturation in soul?

You get Groove Addiction.

Recently selected Best Up & Coming Local Band in the 2002 Nashville Scene Readers’ Poll, Groove Addiction is fast becoming a group to be reckoned with. You may have already come in contact with GA when they were the house band for the Nashville Predators Hockey Team or perhaps you’ve caught them at 3rd & Lindsley or other local hangouts. Whether you’ve seen them in person or haven’t had that opportunity yet, you’ll raise an eyebrow and grin when you hear their original work on their debut indie release.

“For All Intent & Purposes” is a collection of 10 songs that showcase a large pallet of musical talent. These songs run the gamut from the heavy pop/rock feel of the CD opener
California King, with its catchy and hard-hitting tune that won’t let your feet to sit still, to the raw bluesy sound of Day In the Life, a song that hits close to home for all that hear it. Even to the soft piano driven love song All That I Have to Give, that after hearing will just make you feel good all over. Other favorites are the funky Magic 8 Ball and the politically loaded Love & Only Love. You truly won’t be able to sit through this roller coaster of tunes without bobbing your head, tapping your feet, and becoming an overall slave to the “Groove.”
